As everyone knows, Britney Spears kicked off her Circus tour last night in New Orleans. While the pop star is certainly a seasoned performer, ticket holders were (no doubt) curious to see if she’d make it through her tour set list without any obvious, rusty 2007 VMA-era glitches.
(Sort of the same vain as Jimmy Fallon and his new Late Night hosting gig. Expectations weren’t soaring.)
While the jury’s still out on Jimmy’s “stiff” performance, Britney was anything but constrained as she writhed on stage in an “X-rated, bondage-heavy show.” (!)
Much to the audience’s delight, her dancers wore S&M masks, she pole-danced and was lowered onto the stage in a cage wearing a sheer bodysuit. Brit worked the stripper pole, paid homage to Bollywood, was cut in half and bashed her leather-clad, blindfolded dancers with a jumbo pink mallet during “If U Seek Amy.”
Kink-a-licious, Brit.
The Sun may have put it best when they commented Britney made opening act The Pussycat Dolls “look like a group of nuns.” It would appear N’awlins got their money’s worth, ya’ll.
Oh, and as for K-Fed? He spent the first part of the evening at Harrahs Casino — no doubt helping the economy by spending that hard-earned 5K. Yeah, no surprises here.

the reviews I saw called her uninspired, “tired” looking, said she walked (as opposed to danced) around the stage, and forgot to mouth the words to a couple of the songs that she was lip-synching to.

im happy for brit and all, but all she did was walk around the stage?? she didn’t sing? didn’t really dance?? her dancers were good and the stage looked cool, but as for brit? not really!!!!!
i love what britney has done , she is finaly giving us fans what we want but still people talk about her ! i think she is the strongest person and for all the bad mistakes she has made , she is making a change in her life , and i think she could get right back up to where she was when she was 17 years old!yes maybe she never dance but she is tiying to make a come back !!
