Britney Spears is now the sole head of her empire. Sources say she is managing her own career, right down to the publicity for her new album. Which amounts to her wearing a sandwich board and that ratty pink wig on a street corner urging people to “buy my new record, ya’ll!” And maybe busting a few dance moves in the middle of the crosswalk when the light turns red. Watch out for flying donuts.
Now she’s taken over as her own business manager and publicist. Though she’s still signed to Jive Records, a source told Page Six, “She is doing all of her own business now.” Our spy saw Spears at Aspen on West 22nd Street yesterday afternoon “signing contracts” – possibly related to the recent deal she inked to open a Las Vegas club. The messy mother of two recently cut ties with her manager Larry Rudolf, her mother, and her publicist.
Well, at least the club’s gonna have some kickass apps. There’s gonna be a helluva deep fryer in that place. That dancefloor is going to be slick with curly fry grease!

the only reason we know who she is, is because she had a team of professionals getting her there. now she thinks she can do this all on her own…good luck, honey. i’m so over this train wreck!

The people running Britney’s top-notch marketing machine is what made her disgustingly rich and famous. Not her own marketing abilities. I can’t wait to watch the downfall continue.

This is just another case in point of her poor judgement. I hope it works out for her, but to date the only thing she seems to be able to manage on her own is making a spectacle of herself on a regular basis. She has ridded herself of all those who made her the success she became. They saved her from the life she might have lived; the one where she rode the short bus to school, worked in a profession where poles were involved or would you like fries with that, double wide dwelling and MD 20/20 was for special occasions. The life where she married and started having babies left and right. Her husband would soon quit working so she would have to support them…uh…wait a minute she did do that. Wasn’t that about the same time she appeared to start “thinking” on her own? And the downward spiral continues.
