Although the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office tells TMZ that foul play is not suspected in the death of actress, Brittany Murphy, an autopsy is being performed and toxicology tests will be taken. This is being done against the wishes of Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, who told the staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he was opposed to an autopsy.

E! Online did some research to shed some light on the identity of Brittany’s husband, who has remained relatively out of the Hollywood limelight until his wife’s sudden passing.  The British-born screenwriter has two films to his credit according to IMDb, including a story credit on Factory Girl and writer-director-producer for Two Days, Nine Lives. Before his marriage to the Clueless star, Monjack suffered from multiple financial woes, including four apartment evictions.

The couple became engaged in 2006–the same year Monjack was sued by mortgage and banking company Coutts and Co. for a sum of $470,132. After the couple wed, he was able to pay off the debt in 2008.
