Due to “sluggish” box office sales, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying closed earlier than its original date, July 12th. “This is our last show tonight. It’s been an amazing run,” Nick Jonas said after Saturday night’s final show.  ”This is a great show, and this is a great group of people. I’m truly humbled to be on this stage every night with these amazing people… who really care so deeply about their work and about each other.”

Jonas was preceeded by Glee‘s Darren Criss, and before him Daniel Radcliffe played the role of J. Pierrepont Finch.  ”It’s a joy to come into work every day. It’s the kind of experience you never forget,” Jonas added.  ”This is my return to Broadway as a man now… and I could not have done what I did onstage every night without these amazing people up here with me.”

Before making his final curtain, Jonas performed an impromptu concert outside the Al Hirschfield Theater, singing “Lovebug” and a cover of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.”  Yesterday (May 20th) Jonas attended the 27th Annual AIDS Walk New York 2012, the world’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraising event, in Central Park.

After a successful run run on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Glee’s golden boy, Darren Criss, was been tapped to host the 13th-annual Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards in New York which took place last night.

On Glee, Darren and Matt Bomer performed a rendition of Gotye’s runaway hit song “Somebody That I Used to Know” on April 10th’s episode, they weren’t quite expecting a diss from Gotye himself.

HLNs Showbiz Tonight reports that in the wake of the performance, Gotye commented to The Sunday Mail saying that the Glee version was “dinky and wrong.”

However, Criss and Bomer have responded no less than graciously to the singer’s views on their duet version of the song. On the red carpet of the Met Costume Institute Gala this past Monday night, Criss said, “That’s a common example of the media running away with something I think was completely harmless.”  Read More »

On anyone else, this bold striped dress wouldn’t work.  For some reason – be it the hair, teeth or smile – this frock just works on Chicago star Christie Brinkley.  The former model is currently promoting her turn as Roxie Hart in the Broadway play, which is going on national tour.

“I thought about it and realized I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life wondering if I could have done it,” Brinkley said about going on stage, according to the North County Times.  I asked for the script and the CD. I thought the script was so fresh and relevant, so I asked if I could audition. When they told me they’d be honored to have me play the role, I was stunned.”

Brinkley met up with Extra host Maria Menounos to talk shop and show off that gorgeous figure.  Brinkley started her career in Paris, after a photographer discovered her and suggested she should get into the business.  Thirty years later, here she is.  Read More »

The Broadway show Evita, who won seven Tony Awards back in 1979, is back at the Marquis Theatre! In case you don’t know, this Broadway hit made the song “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” very famous.

This version has Ricky Martin taking on the role of Che and critics are saying he’s “fabulous”. Martin has a great singing voice and a confident presence on stage. His co-star Elena Roger also has a strong voice, but will never be able to replace the iconic performance by her precedent Patti LuPone, who made that role hers.

All in all the show is a good one, but will need to exceed magnificence if it is to out-do the original! Meanwhile, the latin singer and his mustache promoted the Broadway show on Today yesterday where he and his cast-mate performed in Times Square.
