T-Mobile is dropping Catherine Zeta Jones as their spokesperson. The company is going through a major re-brand with plans to add on new internet phone services in the future. Catherine who has been the spokesperson since 2003 is reported to have a contract with the company worth millions of dollars. The Welsh beauty appears in television and print ads for the company in the United States.
According to the Wall Street Journal-
“The company has decided to drop Ms. Zeta-Jones from its advertising in favor of a more man-on-street approach to marketing, people familiar with the matter say.”
What does that mean? You are going to get rid of your celebrity spokesperson and hire some average Joe. I say it’s a big mistake on T-Mobile’s part to get rid of her. However there are reports that Ms Zeta-Jones may continue to appear in some ads until her contract expires next year, but eventually she will be phased out.
