Celebs Gather For Second Memorial Service For Heath Ledger

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Sienna Miller, Lindsay Lohan, Ellen Degeneres and other celebrities gathered at the Sony Pictures lot on Saturday to remember Heath Ledger. Heath was 28 when he died in New York City on January 22. The initial autopsy proved “inconclusive”. This service comes a week after a smaller gathering that included ex-girlfriend Naomi Watts was held in Beverly Hills. Other mourners included Heath’s father Kim, representatives from CAA (the agency that represented Heath), director Todd Haynes, and actress Shannyn Sossamon who was Heath’s co-star in “A Knight’s Tale”. “I’m Not There” director Haynes spoke at the service. Heath was one of the actors who portrayed Bob Dylan in the critically acclaimed film. Heath’s ex-fiancee Michelle Williams recently released a statement asking that she be allowed to grieve privately and stating that her “heart is broken”. Indeed.

    I’m at a loss to understand why Brad Renfro’s death received such minor media attention in comparison to the unfortunate demise of Mr. Ledger.
