Celebs Gather To See Dubya Humiliated In ‘W.’

October 15th, 2008 // 1 Comment

The premiere of Oliver Stone‘s biopic of George W. Bush, W., was held last night at New York’s Ziegfeld Theatre. The movie traces George from his college days as a frat jerk at Yale, through his string of useless business ventures in Texas while enjoying booze, broads and cocainya, and then over to when he finally found God and ran our country into the ground. Fun!

Brawler Josh Brolin is Dubya, and James Cromwell (Daddy Bush the First) Elizabeth Banks (Laura Bush), Thandie Newton (Condaleeza Rice), Jeffrey Wright (Colin Powell), Toby Jones (Karl Rove), and Richard Dreyfuss (Dick “Shoot Ya In The Face” Cheney) play his family and his sad and ugly cabinet of jerks. I think I’m going to go just to see how W. was hazed at Yale (I’m hoping for a homoerotic Skull & Bones paddling scene) and for Newton’s portrayal of Condaleeza Rice’s grimace. The commercials crack my ass up.

Featured in the gallery: Josh Brolin, Diane Lane, Jesse Bradford, Rosie Perez, Ted Danson, Elizabeth Banks, Thandie Newton, Stanley Tucci, Oliver Stone, Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Burstyn, Rosario Dawson, Kim Raver, Julia Stiles, Rufus Wainwright, Vera Farmiga, Michael Pitt and James Cromwell.

  1. Stone Sucks | October 17, 2008 at 11:51 pm

Stone’s contempt for Bush has poisoned this movie. It is a facile caricature, no way this even approaches anywhere near a true biopic. Bush was not the best nor is he the worst president. If Iraq never happened and the economy hadn’t slumped liberals like Stone would still hate Bush for his ideological views.
