According to the Daily Mail, Theron said: “We went to Turkey. When we got over there, we rented a car and we drove all the way to Budapest. By the time we got to Budapest it was like the Cannes Film Festival, I’d never seen anything like it.”
As it turns out, all of the activity she was referring to was taking place at the Istanbul International Film Festival. I’ll be honest–I’m ridiculously ignorant when it comes to geography so I can sympathize with Charlize. I used to think that cartography was the study of carts, that is, until my boyfriend very helpfully corrected me. Dating a 5th grader might have it’s disadvantages, but at least it keeps me from looking like an idiot.

She didn’t say she drove to Budapest, Turkey. She just said she drove to Budapest, which is certainly within driving distance of the country of Turkey. Why would this make her sound like an idiot?

^She went to the Istanbul International Film Festival and thought it took place in Budapest whereas it was in Istanbul.Turkey’s capital is Ankara.

Budapest is about 5 to 6 hours from Istanbul by plane. I wouldn’t say it is the easiest to drive there.
Even so, my favourite video is of that American Idol girl claiming that Europe is a country and Budapest is the capital of France

you guys have way too much expectations from these celebs…on the other hand IT IS ISTANBUL where she had been to a film festival,there were a lot of candids of her and beau Tawsend wandering on the streets of ISTANBUL , I guess she was too high to remember at all.
