What? No Bai Ling in between these classy-looking stars in their low-key suits, trench coats and generally tasteful looking ensembles? I guess the opening of the Chopard jewelry boutique on Madison Avenue in NYC was a smidge too classy for our favorite habitual nipple exposer. Instead, stars like Liz Hurley (who we suspect might be reconciling with her ex, Hugh Grant), Maggie Gyllenhaal, Adrien Brody, supermodel Eva Herzigova and Rachel Weisz all showed up, flashing their pearly whites at the store’s debut. Also in attendance as the guest of honor was the man who defines the very concept of sparkly, Elton John, who claims Chopard jewels as some of his favorites.
“I’m here in a small capacity, returning a favour to them for a very big favour they do for us. They’re great people and great humanitarians.”
What Elton is referring to is the work that Chopard has done in the past in helping him raise funds for his AIDS foundation. These pictures are all pretty sedate, except for the one of Ivana Trump after the jump, where you can see that she’s so rich, she can afford a fur coat made out of an actual Cookie Monster.
