Star Trek star, Chris Pine, is gearing up for negotiations with Paramount Pictures to portray CIA analyst character from the Tom Clancy novel series, Jack Ryan.
It sounds like more action-packed fare for the young actor, who took a break from film to star in the theater production of Farragut North over the summer.
In a statement confirming the news, Paramount Pictures tells Variety, “Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan. With Chris in this role, we’ve taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise.”
Chris will be following in the footsteps of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, all of whom have portrayed the Jack Ryan character in films past. Those are some sexy shoes to fill, but I think Chris is up to the task.
