Here are some more stills from New Moon, as well as outtakes from her Nylon magazine photoshoot. And New Moon director, Chris Weitz, recently chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about his experiences taking over from Twilight director, Catherine Hardwicke.

As Chris explains, “There are two heartthrobs in this movie, not just [Robert Pattinson] but Taylor Lautner. Part of the point was that Edward was away. Readers of the book know this and appreciate it. The story is about loss and heartache; he is present as an absence. Bella is always thinking of him and affected by him.”

Weitz also addressed some sticky situations that have developed since he has joined the Twi-team. Chris says, “We’ll have to see how people feel about the entire movie, not only the studio but the fans, before the verdict is out whether I direct Number 4.”

When it comes to the controversy surrounding the replacement of Rachelle Lefevre with Bryce Dallas Howard in the role of Victoria, Chris confessed, “I don’t know much more than everybody else as to why it went down. I think it was a scheduling conflict. I feel very badly for Rachelle, while at the same time think that Bryce (Dallas) Howard is a terrific actress. She’ll do a terrific job.” Very diplomatic of him.

I like Chris for the most part, but am very disappointed he could not even get the color of Edward’s car right with all the money they had to spend on the New Moon production. Costumes were also bad. Edward and Alice looked out of place. The velvet collared coat Edward is wearing in one clip. What 17 year old would wear that crap.
Someone should shoot the costume designer. Don’t even get me started on Jasper’s hair.

I like Chris for the most part, but disappointed that he could not even get the color of Edward’s car right. Costumes are awful. Edward and Alice look 10 years older than Twilight. You would never see a 17 year old male high school student in that velvet collar coat. It looks silly. Costume designer and continuity director should be shot.
