With the Bettie Page movie being tipped for Oscar glory, Hollywood is seeking out some more period glamour, according to reports. The next starlet to have her life story brought to the big screen appears to be Jeanne Carmen – and Christina Aguilera is tipped to take the lead role. Carmen was – indeed, still is – an Arkansas girl who went to Hollywood back in the fifties, via a spell dancing in New York, and some time hanging out in Vegas with the likes of mobster Johnny Roselli. After a spell hustling on golf courses – she was an expert at trick shots – she landed in Hollywood where, while she never really hit the big time, she carved out a career in B-movies with names like Untamed Youth and Too Much, Too Soon.

Let’s just hope they don’t cast anyone in the movie who might possibly be of normal size, lest it appear that X-tina is simply playing the role of a very sexy hobbit.
