Star of Samantha Who? Christina Applegate took the opportunity of the 2008 Emmy awards to get all dolled up and celebrate not only her career, but her good health. The now cancer-free actress told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, “I’ve got a pretty dress on and lipstick, and [it's] something I haven’t done in two months.”

Dressed in a dramatic silk organza gown by Reem Acra, the 36-year-old star was radiant and enthusiastic about the evening and life in general. “It really feels good to be here … That’s what life’s all about.” ?

Adding to her excitement was her co-star’s Emmy win. Jean Smart took home a golden statue for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy and said of her television daughter, “I’ve never seen an actress who’s so beloved by her cast and crew. I feel very protective of her.”
