Cooking Show Host In Host Water?

January 24th, 2007 // 20 Comments

TMZ reports exclusively that Rachael Ray made some disparaging comments about future boss, Oprah Winfrey, over dinner at Houston’s Century City Shopping Mall on December 3, 2005. TMZ has the details about the dinner:

We’re told Ray became “extremely loud and aggressive,” and began dissing Oprah. Sources say she told the group about a portrait of Oprah that sits in the lobby of Harpo Productions in Chicago. It’s from the movie “Beloved” and shows Winfrey’s back, enhanced with scars. She’s also wearing a skirt from the slavery era.

Back at the table, sources say Ray launched into attack mode: “Why is she wearing slave drag? She obviously has problems being black.”

Brangelina was also a topic of conversation, according to the article.

Sources say she told the group how much she liked Jennifer Aniston and then called Brad Pitt a “pussy boy.” But her harshest comments were reserved for Angelina Jolie, calling her “a skanky, backdoor c**t.”

In reaction, Rachael’s camp is denying the comments were ever made.

TMZ contacted the Director of Publicity for Rachael Ray, Charlie Dougiello, who said, “Rachael did attend the dinner referenced and enjoyed wine and good conversation with friends and colleagues. She denies making any of the comments referenced. In fact, there are several words that are attributed to Rachael that she has never uttered in her life.”

But who knows? I mean, I could be considered a “source.” And I lie like ALL the time. Just because.

Jesus, I knew Rachael from San Diego, she’s truly a nice person. I can’t believe this story has taken on a life of it’s own. She’s really a sweet person and would never say either thing that’s been attributed to her. This is really sad.

I have an unhealthy interest in snark, but this can’t be true. She’s not like that at all.

Please, that chick is smut herself! I can’t stand ANY of her shows. Bring back Martha!! I hope Oprah fires her ass!

I believe that once that little porker gets some of the sauce in her she says a lot of things.

In her defence,if she did say these things, she was right on the money about all of them.Especially about Oprah.

I WISH this were true. She has to be one of the most irritating personalities on tv, although she doesn’t seem the malicious type.

    PS
Her Oprah comment is RIGHT ON.

HATE Rachel Ray, her shows are terrible, especially 30 Minute Meals…

Worst of all, on 40 dollars a day she converts curency incorrectly all the time, she calculates how much she spends under the very incorrect belief that the dollar is worth more than the Euro.

Rachel Ray = super market skank

    Giada de Laurentes= GODDESS

well her 30 minute show does suck, she does almost everything out of a can, come on we all can do that crap…lol

And who knows maybe she got a little tipsy and said all them things….gotta hold sauce better next time

And as for the Oprah Comment soooooooo true on all that….lol

As an African American woman, I am confused by those of you who think that Ray’s remarks about Oprah (if they really are hers) are on point. Slavery did happen. It is a part of America’s history and a part that has had lingering effects on all of us, black and white. So because Oprah acknowledges this and explores issues of racism she “has a problem with being black”? I don’t think so.

  14. Matt | January 25, 2007 at 2:54 pm

Why is this being reported on January 24, 2007 when the alleged and no way factual comments took place on December 3, 2005? Why wait over a year to post this?

  15. Uulargh of the Prairie | January 26, 2007 at 12:02 pm

Well, there is obviously only one way out of this for Rachel … REHAB.

    It’s very popular lately.

Mind you, she DOES drink a bit… It’s probably because she’s traumatized by knowing she’s an adult woman built like a fat 12 year old boy. That said, why is it that saying something stupid and saying something incorrect aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive.

Can somebody explain to me why Rachel’s comment about Oprah is “right on”? These statements you make further verify the truth about whites. You love Oprah(or any other person in her shoes), until any issue comes up relating to her blackness- like the way she was treated at French store, and now this rachel comment- then you revert to what I have come to learn through extensive studies and comparisons to be the true nature of whites: blatantly & astonishingly irrational(no logic), perpetually angry and UNJUSTIFIABLY violent creatures whose basic instinct is really to murder, inhumanely dehumanise or systematically deprive the non-deficient(melanin-wise) race and then, worst of all, you LIE, LIE, LIE about it, absolve yourselves using self-glorifying propaganda.

Yeah, Ray’s a skank… but who doesn’t love a skank?! I mean, only jealous women wouldn’t love a skank, ’cause the skank would take all the bitch’s action away! Skanks are the sh*t. I hope to nail as many skanks in this lifetime as I possibly can (hopefully without getting AIDS, Herpes, Chlamidia, the Clap, or crabs in the process).
