Well, things were going nicely at the New York Film Critics dinner for a time. There were toasts, laughs, happy acceptance speeches, etcetera.
Amongst the insiders, they each threw a few jabs at each other that I’d tell you about…but I barely could stay awake or keep up with so I won’t bore you. Instead, this is who was there: Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, James Toback, Colin Firth, Tom Hooper, Kerry Washington, Mark Rufffalo, David O. Russell, Stanley Tucci, Aaron Sorkin, Lesley Manville, Edward Norton, Lisa Cholodenko, Paul Schrader, and so on.

The Social Network won best picture and the best speeches were delivered by Best Supporting Actor Mark Ruffalo and Aaron Sorkin, screenwriter of Social Network who admitted he’d seen The King’s Speech three times, conceding that both films were about loneliness.
