I love Kristen Stewart in a strapless leather dress at the premiere of The Runaways at South by Southwest in Austin. Very rock n’ roll. Dakota Fanning does her version of the little strapless dress with intricate and delicate embroidery. While I marvel over their style the critics are talking about the girl’s performances in the flick and many are liking what they see.

Though many reviewers are split on how much they enjoyed the film, they tend to agree that the stars provided excellent performances. Luke Y. Thompson at E online says Stewart gave a “solid” performance along with the unsurprisingly good performance from Fanning and Michael Shannon “dominates the screen.” The Montreal Gazette says “both Fanning and Stewart are intense, engaging and highly evocative of their role models” and a review from Sundance says “Kristen Stewart steps out of her normal angsty girl act and nails down the punk rock, hard as nails Jett, and Fanning is equally as good with her disconnected portrayal of Currie.” NBC in Philadelphia anointed their performances “admirable”.

That’s just a few reviews, but ultimately you’ll have to decide for yourself as the movie opens today!
