Dan Rather Sues Everybody

September 20th, 2007 // 7 Comments

OK, maybe not everybody, but he has targeted CBS, three of his past bosses, as well as what used to be the parent company of the network, Viacom. Dan is looking to get $50 million in punitive damages and $20 million in compensatory damages, which comes to a total of a hell of a whole lot of damages. According to the Los Angeles Times:

Rather’s complaint stems from “CBS’ intentional mishandling” of the aftermath of a discredited story about President George W. Bush’s time in the Texas Air National Guard.

Go on, Dan, with your accuracy-loving self. However, I must apologize for this freak occurrence in which some actual news managed to sneak through our highly sophisticated filtering system. I apologize and assure you it will not happen again. As you were.

I’m not a big “sue-happy” person, but Dan Rather was definitely the scapegoat for CBS’s big error, and I’m sure it ruined his career. So do what you gotta do, Dan!

Please! Dan Rather personally vouched for the most obviously forged documents ever. He staked his named on it, and that’s why he still insists those pieces of crap were real, or at least not “proven false.” (Duh! One look at those turds proves them false! Check out http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com – that’s who busted Dan on this.) He destroyed his own credibility trying to stand behind his bull story and made himself a liability for CBS. He deserved the boot and worse. Go home and shut up, Dan — you’re only embarrassing yourself worse.

Good anchors never carry their level of hate to this extreme. He is now a failure as an anchor. He lost all credibility and not just with CBS
