With American Idol contestant Danny Gokey no longer in the running, there are now only two finalists left on the reality TV competition, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.

Kris Allen of Arkansas managed to upset Gokey on, winning over the audience with his folk-singing. A pared-down version of Kanye West‘s “Heartless” was what finally sealed his fate.

Sadly for Gokey, his bluesy rock sound and sympathetic situation wasn’t enough to keep him in the game.

And then there were two…

Why Adam should win. It is a singing contest and Adam has out sung every other singer in this competition. Why he will win. You have to look at the road traveled by the frontrunners to understand their appeal. It is my belief that beyond the notes and the voice there is energy in the mindfield generated by each individual. It has something to do with why contestants are loved or hated. The quantum is the smallest part of nothing. Physicist will tell you that when you break physical matter down to its smallest particles, what holds them in place is the “no thing” the Zero Point Quantum. There is more “nothing” then something. To learn to manipulate the “nothing” is far more profound then to learn to manipulate physical matter. That profound manipulation occurred when the world heard Adam’s voice. He has moved the quantum. To a lesser degree the others have. Allison with her extreme talent is too young and untarnished by life to sell the angst that she sang about. Danny lived through tragedy and his throaty voice could call on some emotions but he lacked the “it” factor that moves the masses. Kris, you just love him because he is cute and wholesome, and sings in a nice bland style, but his life has not scarred him up enough to make you feel the raw human emotion that Adam can. Where did Adam get that soul, as Jamie Fox would say? If anyone looks at Adam’s graduation video and watches him sing to the audience of his classmates, you can see that he notices some of the kids snickering at him and he just keeps singing. By the end of the song he has won them over and his obvious talent gets applause. I don’t know Adam, I don’t know the details of his life, but he is someone that has experienced the pain of a society that does not embrace differences and through it all he survived, not by becoming bitter, hostile or resentful, but by moving to a higher plane, by displaying the kind of behavior he wanted from others. He took to the stage every week and battled not only the other singers, but social injustice. He is a man that is just as sweet as he is fearless. I believe that there is a powerful message in Adam’s voice and Adam’s energy that the world needs. That is why I will motivate everyone within my reach to vote for him next Tuesday.

Adam will win, he has had so much more professional training. He should never have been paired with this group. The singer who would have the lasting success as a singer, would be Danny Gokey. He was better than Kris.
