New York lawmakers voted to legalize same-sex marriage Friday, handing activists a breakthrough victory in the state where the gay rights movement was born.
New York will become the sixth state where gay couples can wed and the biggest by far.
“We are leaders, and we join other proud states that recognize our families, and the battle will now go on in other states,” said Sen. Thomas Duane, a Democrat.

Excuse me, but I live in El Salvador and I can assure U.S.A is not a laughing stock of any country, it’s a wonderful land and legalizing new laws to the progress of the human rights it’s not losing credibility, in contrast, is more admired for the people who belive in equality and the progress around the world, and this is just other proof that America is the freedom’s land.
