David Beckham readies for the launch of a new campaign for his H&M bodywear line this Thursday (August 16, 2012).
Celebrating the new campaign, H&M plans to unveil nine 11-foot silver statues of Beckham (check out a photo of the statue in the gallery) in his boxer briefs, targeting New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The statues make their appearance on Thursday as well.
Beckham says he’s pleased with consumer reaction to the line and its ad campaign.
“I’m very happy that so far people seem to like it and the first season was incredibly successful. The challenge is to keep it going and establish a brand that will last many years. That is my ambition,” he wrote in an email to the Associated Press.
The statues will be placed in each of the lucky stores in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco from August 16 to 19. After the weekend, the nine David Beckham’s will travel to other stores in those three cities through August 31.
Upload your pictures of you and his store statue with the caption #HMBeckham to Instagram to enter the contest. A few lucky entrants will win really great prizes, including $1,000 H&M shopping sprees, 10 miniature versions of the statue or even a pair of the Bodywear underwear signed by Mr. Beckham.
