David Beckham And Family Are Officially Americans Now

August 30th, 2010 // 1 Comment

I have deemed it so!

David Beckham and his three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz (crap, now I have the My Three Sons theme song in my head), caught an Angels game in Anaheim yesterday with Gordon Ramsay and his son Jack (thus proving that all famous people know each other in some capacity).

In all ways the average American family, with the exception of being mad, stupid rich and famous, the mob were clad in Angels gear and clearly excited to be free of the mind-numbing boredom that is a baseball game (sorry, folks, that’s just how I feel).

And since they are so mad, stupid rich and famous, they got to meet all the players afterwards and received free autographs, like on that ball that Romeo is madly waving about.

Think what you will about the Beckhams, I myself love them madly (call me, Victoria!), but David and Victoria Beckham do spend a lot of time with their kids.  There are some celebrities that I forget even have kids (I’m looking at you, Brit Brit!).

These pictures of the actual event I just spoke of (don’t laugh; that’s rare), aren’t super exciting, but I do like the ones of Gordon Ramsay confabbing with little Cruz Beckham.  Beneath his tough, leathery exterior beats a heart of vegemite.  Or whatever the hell the English eat.  Beer sandwiches?

Are you serious? The Beckhams are U. S. citizens now? After the firestorm David started by saying he was proud to be a Brit, & would not ever be an American? He only made matters worse by trying to “explain” himself. I believe if you live here as luxuriously as the Beckhams, earn their outrageous incomes here & raise their children here, they SHOULD be U.S. citizens. Nothing wrong
with having dual citizenship. It certainly does not make them be any less “Brit” by being a U. S. citizen. Just ask Craig Ferguson. Better yet, read his autobiography, “American On Purpose”: The Improbable Adventures Of An Unlikely Patriot.
If you made the comment in jest, forgive me please. If not, congratulations to the Beckhams. Now, perhaps the Gordon Ramsay family will follow suit?
I’ve 2 grandfathers, a Dad & a brother who all fought in foreign wars because their country told them that it was the right thing to do. When my Dad arrived on British soil to save their backsides from an insane Nazi, he was met with ” over sexed, over paid, & over here”. The sins of the father, yes? I am, however a Connecticut Yankee & damn proud of it.
Dispite my ramblings, I like the Beckhams & am proud to say that in the midst of the shit storm Gordon Ramsay has been dealing with of late, I believe him to be a man of honor, integrity, & dignity. Gordon Ramsay is a man to be respected.
    Yours,
    Linda
