For those people who believed that David Beckham was holding onto his facial hair for superstitious reasons, or to make some kind of fashion statement, the soccer star is clearing up any confusion.

Becks explains, “Halloween is coming up and I was thinking of Wolverine from X-Men. It’s not some play-off ritual. I’m just lazy and can’t be bothered to shave. And everybody keeps telling me to cut it and I’m stubborn.”

That’s pretty cool. Just good luck with making a better Wolverine than little Cruz Beckham, which totally isn’t possible.
