Slumdog Millionaire costars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel have remained relatively low-key about their relationship that first blossomed on set. However, the twosome have no problem posing for pictures on the red carpet together, like they did here at the 18th Annual BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards in Century City.

While director for the film, Danny Boyle, chatted about the young couple, he admits, “I’m delighted for them, they seem to be real soul mates….and I’m sure more than that.” Initially, however, Boyle was just as much in the dark as the rest of us. Danny explains, “I was a bit surprised at first, but then those things tend to pass me by!”

However, the couple themselves opted not to chat with press about their relationship. When journalists tried to get Danny to spill the beans on a possible wedding in the couple’s future, he joked, “Oh I’ve no idea, I’m a terrible person to ask about that, I can’t give you any gossip on that front I’m afraid.”

Well he’s no fun.
