DGA Awards Honor Danny Boyle & ‘Slumdog Millionaire’

February 1st, 2009 // 1 Comment

Director Danny Boyle and his movie Slumdog Millionaire continued their wildly successful run this awards season by nabbing the Directors Guild of America top prize. The film was awarded the DGA feature award, beating out The Dark Knight, Milk, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon.

This award is usually a pretty good predictor of Oscar success, so Danny might want to go ahead and get that speech ready for the big night. I love this awards show! It’s 90% nerdy guys in guits! And I mean REAL nerds, not the American Apparel kind.

And the other 10% was hot people–the Christian Bale and Marisa Tomei kind of hot.

Featured in the gallery: Gus Van Zant, Michelle Monaghan, Richard Jenkins, Freida Pinto, Lisa Edelstein, Rachel Griffiths, Roger Ebert, Frank Langella, Dev Patel, Danny Bolye, Viola Davis, Josh Brolin, Melissa Leo, Amy Adams, Ron Howard, Christopher Nolan, Tarji P. Henson, Marisa Tomei, Claire Danes, Hugh Dancy, Virginia Madsen, Teri Seymour and Susanna Hoffs.
