Portia de Rossi is making waves in Australia where she has requested no man be allowed to interview her about her new book Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain. The book details her battle with anorexia and her sexuality, before she married Ellen Degeneres. The actress has now turned down several interviews with well-known male talk show hosts in Australia which has caused an uproar.

One such journalist David Koch who hosts the hit show Sunrise had this to say: “If a male said I don’t want to be interviewed by a woman, there would be a massive outcry of discrimination. Obviously she has got issues and I feel quite sorry for her… I admire what she and Ellen have done for community tolerance and inclusiveness. But it is a real contradiction for what she stands for, which really surprises me. Maybe she is uncomfortable with men, but she plays opposite male leads.”

I agree: you gotta practice what you preach. Let’s hope this is just a misunderstanding.
