So that’s how it is in their family. To be honest, Lohan is looking like she just came from a fairly successful key party and staggered to the interview area, but still. We’ll know what’s up when she appears on her new album cover in blackface.

Angie, that’s the dumbest crap I’ve ever heard, no one gets offended by being called ‘black’ so just shut up.
On a brighter note, I don’t think many people know that being called “colored” is not exactly the nicest thing you can do. So I say cut her some slack and tell her it’s not okay.

Angie you’re as dumb as Lindsay. Don’t you remember some called segregation? The water fountains and bathrooms didn’t say “African-American.” They said “colored.” “Colored” is far from a proper word.

Black female here-
I don’t use the n-word and the only people I let get away with saying colored are those who are over 70 because it was a common saying when they were growing-up. Where I reside it isn’t unusual to hear the term colored from people who should know better. My response has always been, “Crayola Crayons are colored, people aren’t.”

Just asking, cos, it follows that if I can be referred to as coloured because of my cafe au lait skin tone, then she could be called colourless with her grey/pink tone though technically cafe au lait and grey/pink are all colours..,…. hmmmm

Oh lay off her already and get an education: long before blacks began calling themselves “African Americans” and “blacks,” the only other term other than the ugly disgusting “n” word, was to refer to them as “colored.” I grew up as a child with a very close “colored” black friend and never was it taken to be a “slur” on either her family’s part or mine.

“Colored” has been an offensive term in the US for many years, and Lindsay Lohan is far too young to use such a stupid, old-fashioned term. She’s just a fool, and her stupidity is about to bite her in the ass.

even if you find the word “colored” offensive, you have to realize that there is a segment of society that isn’t bothered by it. as such, it seems likely that lindsay didn’t mean anything by it– especially since she supports obama.
in other words, calm the fuck down, it’s not always racism.

yea ok she used the term “colored” but it was clear that she didn’t want to offend anybody… you must see the intention of a person. you cannot get angry with her because she said “colored president” c’mon!
i myself sometimes use the term colored person (i’m not from the US and not black) because where i live you cannot call black people african american, ’cause they’re not american!

I’m still confused over “people of color” being a choice phrase and “colored” being offensive. I raised my daughter to have no differentiation in ANY people. She still spent 4 years of her life calling my best friend “chocolate”. He thought it was the sweetest thing because she came up with it ON HER OWN to mean he was a different color than she is. Color is something that physically can’t be ignored. The problem is with almost every term, someone might take offense. It seems to me that offense is in the eye of the beholder, and that is the way it should be. I have no right to say what is correct for others. Like someone said… this is Lindsay Lohan we’re talking about…
I had a friend in high school who was offended by African-American. He said he was born in America so he was just an American. How can anyone be politically correct when EVERYONE has their own opinions.

I suspect a number of the folks here saying to “get over it” are white folks who’ve never had a pejorative term used institutionally to segregate them from society. I’m sorry but “cracker” or “honkey” is not equivalent.

The racial tension in this country has gotten WAY worse that it has ever been! If you say one wrong thing it feels as if we are going to have a huge race war! It is sad to see that this is what people are freaking out over. Lindsay is not known for being the smartest woman. I could understand if she meant it in a mean, racial way (like Michael Richards did), but she didn’t. I think by trying to make everyone 100% politically correct, we are an angry country walking on eggshells just to waiting for that one little thing to lash out upon. VERY SAD and SCARY future for America. People need to relax.

my impression is that whatever term she uses, whatever things she does or says some people will always find something negative to say about her. Yhat’s not being mature, but being childish and yes, “racist”. You don’t give her any chance, liek she is the worst thing in this world. i’m not a fan of L. Lohan, the only movie of her i’ve seen was mean girls, so i don’t defend her because i’m a fan, but it hink she’s a person hust like everyone else. she made stupid choices in her life, but she didn’t kill anyone. give her a break.

Since when did black + white = black. Obama is mixed race. It is an insult to his white mother (who raised him without any assistance from his black father) to call him black. Maybe Obama wishes he was black, but he’s not.
