UPDATE: We’ve since removed the video and put it after the jump, since we could see that a lot of you guys were upset in the comments. Just to clarify, Heath’s not actually shown doing drugs and we felt this was newsworthy enough to provide to you guys. This way, you can decide whether or not you want to view it for yourself.

The late actor, Heath Ledger, who was found deceased earlier this month in his Soho apartment can now be seen in a video at a Hollywood drug party, recorded shortly after his film, “Brokeback Mountain,” had earned him a SAG Award nomination for Leading Role. The video, which was shot at the infamous Chateau Marmont reveals a guilty Heath talking to the camera, and at some point, a man is seen in the background appearing to snort something that looks like drugs from the table. Originally, it was set to air on Entertainment Tonight, which teased the video on the show, but but has since decided to shelve it.

Heath confesses that he had been smoking pot for most of his life, telling a guest, “I shouldn’t be here at all,” and saying, “I used to smoke five joints a day for 20 years.”

In a chilling admission, Heath tells a fellow party guest, “I’m going to get serious s–t from my girlfriend,” adding, “We just had a baby three months ago.” Reportedly, Michelle Williams and daughter Matilda were in the hotel in another room at the time of the party.

I’m deleting the bookmarks for any website that insists on exhibiting this video. Haven’t you read the comments on other sites that did, and the reaction by the public to the disgusting people who are seeking to profit from it? I’m deleting you now. bye.

  2. joan durtz | January 31, 2008 at 1:22 pm

It is really disgusting how people go sneaking around with cameras (it looks like this idiot is hiding in a closet or behind something to get this footage) to capture images of people in private moments. Who gives a rats ass if he was partying! BFD – it is not like almost everyone who sees this or has seen it has not done something that others would not agree with.

  3. Bubba | January 31, 2008 at 1:26 pm

The video is really not that exciting. Big whoop.

  4. Hulla | January 31, 2008 at 1:27 pm

My God we know he did drugs.

Let the man rest in peace.

  5. Brianna | January 31, 2008 at 1:27 pm

I agree, Joan, it is disgusting how they filmed him like that.

I am at work, so I couldn’ watch the entire thing, but does it show him at any point taking drugs? All I could see was him drinking a beer.

It was a little disturbing though, and I hope for his family’s sake his death was not drug related. But no matter what, its a tragedy. Bad things happen to good people every day.

  6. Sasha | January 31, 2008 at 1:28 pm

THis has nothing to do with his death. Even if it di so what. How many rock stars politicians buissnesman did not do this at his age. THey just lived.

  7. S_M_G | January 31, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Not you too Socialitelife.com. Not you too Lisa.

So not cool to post this video…

  8. Queen Caffeine | January 31, 2008 at 1:37 pm

It’s still sad, no matter what ultimately killed him.

  9. susiegrl | January 31, 2008 at 1:37 pm

As someone who has battled a 27 year addiction to pain killers and experienced first hand the horror of addiction, I have to say that this is in poor taste. I love your site, you all are so incredibly funny, and the whole purpose here is to poke fun at the celeb lifestyle, but I hope you take this video down. This was obviously a young man who was in a lot of inner pain and was a very gifted actor and a loving father. Yes he lived his life in the spotlight, but there is a big difference here between Britney’s midnight 7-11 runs for cheetos in her P.J.’s and her obvious public cry for attention and Heath Ledger’s demise from a personal battle that ended his life. I stopped going to Perez Hilton’s website after he just crossed the line way too many times, and while I realize we’re not talking about brain surgery here, I still think that a certain level of decency is called for in this case. I hope you do the right thing.

  10. Jennifer | January 31, 2008 at 1:47 pm

I can’t understand for the most part what they’re even saying in this video. He seems to be drinking a beer, not using any drugs. I could make out the part about “We had a baby….” Kind of a boring video! Just more evidence he was a druggie…. Wouldn’t be a bit surprised if his death turns out to have been drug-related.

  11. What? | January 31, 2008 at 1:51 pm

I don’t think it’s a huge deal for ASL to post this video. If it were anyone else like brad renfro or someone who we all knew did drugs it wouldn’t be a big deal. Let people decide for themselves if they wanna play it or not. I THANK ASL for posting the full video… Entertainment tonight edited it like crazy and it looked like it was all drugs and heath talking about getting in trouble throughout the whole thing… It wasn’t like that at all it was laid back pretty much uneventful.

  12. SASE | January 31, 2008 at 1:59 pm

It would have been just as effective to write about this without posting the video.

  13. brynn | January 31, 2008 at 1:59 pm

please, please. let him rest in peace. everyone has a past. leave him and his family be. don’t you realize that things like this just tear at their fresh wound from his death? he should be remembered for the good that he has done, not for the mistakes he has made. it sickens me that you continue to post these. what happened to the stand on silence that you made on the day of his death?!?!

  14. Tacky | January 31, 2008 at 2:04 pm

The posting of this video only illustrates that, behind the wonderful humor and banter found on this page, you are just as tacky and tasteless Perez. Shame on you ASL, pathetic!!!!!

  15. peachpie | January 31, 2008 at 2:05 pm

awww….man. i thought i knew ASL well enough to know this video wouldn’t be posted here. none of you, even the love-able mr. prieve, would arbitrarily post this, but i need some help with the ‘why’. here’s hoping it’s not just to boost the comment numbers.

  16. CoCo | January 31, 2008 at 2:10 pm

He doesn’t appear to even be taking drugs in this. Sounds like someone got video a long time ago and pulled now to try and make some cash of it. When really it’s nothing. He’s at a party with other people doing drugs and drinking a beer, that’s all. It’s a crappy video too, looks like the guy is behind a couch. He’s dead, let his family rest.

  17. Aeol | January 31, 2008 at 2:13 pm

Didn’t click on it. Won’t click on it. Also not acknowledging any news about Britney Spears until bloggers and gossip columnists realize what a faker she is. Supply and demand? Well, I don’t demand, so don’t supply.

  18. Disbelief | January 31, 2008 at 2:14 pm

What is the point to this video? So we can see that a man who is famous smoked pot? We heared from many sources that Heath Ledger had a drug issue. Whether his death was intentional or accidental, does it matter that he talked about doing drugs at a party two years ago? I just why this is interesting? The man is dead, he’s dead, gone…who cares if he smoked pot? This video is sneaky not to mention, boring.

  19. shell | January 31, 2008 at 2:18 pm

I agree with all of the above who have a problem with this being shown. It’s sick that someone shot this w/out his knowledge and sick that it’s being shown. Some people say that we go on these sites b/c we enjoy the “destruction” of celebrities and so we have no business being outraged by something like this. I, and I would bet a lot of others, go on sites like this to see what’s going on w/celebrities and a lot of times to laugh at them, sure. Not to see that a 28-year-old who died tragically was at a party 2 years ago where people were doing coke and maybe he was, too. It doesn’t matter and the fact is, he’s dead. Leave it alone.

  20. shell | January 31, 2008 at 2:19 pm

p.s. – I just wanted to comment. I’m not watching that video.

  21. S90292 | January 31, 2008 at 2:22 pm

It appears as if this takes place in one of the ground-level Bungalows of the Chateau, and some paparazzo is standing outside of a window filming this. Pretty low…

Also, all I see is Heath drinking beer, big deal. It’s hard to understand what they’re saying, but it seems that Heath is holding a handful of pot at some point, saying that this is a ‘reminder’ for him, cause he USED TO smoke 5 joints a day. He’s never shown actually using any drugs.

In fact, this video seems to DISPROVE that Heath was doing drugs, nothing shocking about it.

  22. anon | January 31, 2008 at 2:23 pm

what has Buzznet done to you? RIP ASL

  23. flatbellydance | January 31, 2008 at 2:42 pm

Wow. I’m pissed, ASL. I have to ditto on every comment here criticizing your choice to put this vid up.

There IS a limit to what the audience can take. We’ve been bombarded with false stories, lies, rumors and god knows, everything else since Heath Ledger died. We saw his, for lack of better word, widow numbly exiting a vehicle at her home. We saw his child, smiling without a clue, to the world. We’ve read the statements of his family and friends. I think many of us have done so, because we felt so incredibly unsettled by his untimely death and needed some kind of answer to our questions. But the media goes too far, in so many instances. This is a classic example of going too far. He was flesh and bone. He laughed, he cried, he hurt, he missed, he loved. His survivors tune into the same internet as those who didn’t know him.

It’s all too much, already. Take the vid down. Not only does it demean the media in general, it casts a desperate and filthy light upon this site. A site I really enjoy coming to, and one that I kept in my personal bookmarks when I ditched several others because of their coldness and repeated instances of spitting on the line of decency. Do something for someone else, regardless of what it costs you – which is nothing.

You can describe the vid without showing it, and you should know already – serious doubt has come into play that this vid is even authentic.

  24. gib | January 31, 2008 at 2:50 pm

I’m sorry Heath was at such a boring ass party… coke chatter and sycophants… a total waste of time.

  25. TLee | January 31, 2008 at 2:59 pm

As someone who was truely devastated by the passing of Heath Ledger.. I didn’t find this video disturbing at all.. YES, I agree that taping this and selling for profit was absolutely wrong and disgusting.. But, now that he is gone I LOVED seeing him and hearing him talk openly.. You can really see the REAL Heath.. quiet, softspoken.. he is concerned about michelle being upset and talks about the baby.. He’s not one of the LOUD mouth, nasty, arrogant Hollywood types.. You can tell that he was honestly a GREAT guy.. My heart goes out to Michelle and his family.. thank you for posting this video!

  26. cosmic robot | January 31, 2008 at 3:03 pm

This is so rediculous. First, to the people that “hate” the video, “hate” the paparazzi, and the blogging world of sites that post such atrocities…you searched for it. Just like the rest of us did, because we’re inquisitive by nature. It’s human. Second, we search for it as a search for closure to an untimely death of a beloved character, and I say character for how many of us really knew Heath at all? I didn’t. Third, I agree that paparazzi go way too far. However, If we as a society stopped worrying about what all the famous people do we could proably end world hunger, stop the war in Iraq, and build a world of toelrance and humility. Instead we put all of our energy into finding out why Heath died, or why Britney shaved her stupid little head. Wake up people. Wake up!
To the shameless person who not only took this video without the knowledge of the people in it, but then sold it to the media…you should be imprisoned! Like the sneaking, peeping tom that you are! I’m ashamed to say that I too searched for this video…as a fan, I just had to know…but it’s all really hogwash, isn’t it? Heath died because it was his time to die. One can speculate for days and that’s all it will be…speculation. For his family’s sake, I hope they truly understand what Heath gave to the world in that of a jovial, kind, and beautiful person that makes us all hopeful. For that I can only thank him. RIP HEATH.

  27. Me | January 31, 2008 at 3:04 pm

But am I blind or he doesn’t appear sniffing anything?
he is having a drink, smoking cigarretes…he’s probably drunk or something and his face by the end of the video is weird, but he’s not doing anything wrong…

this is such a disgusting situation that the people had him over their hotel bedrooms and he was there, telling peorsonal stuff and talking as a regular person while a son of a bitch was trying to get him doing something wrong and now, that son of a bitch is making money with such a sad and “normal” thing in their lives.
Is is sad that now we have all lost a great talent and actor and it is sad how he lost the control of his own life…it’s sad how he probably couldn’t trust people.
    that’s why…

I wish this person a lot of pain.

  28. dana | January 31, 2008 at 3:05 pm

Did he even do drugs in the video? He talks about how he no longer smokes pot as he drinks beer, but does he actually do any blow? It was too long and boring to watch, so I kept fast-forwarding. I don’t think he was actually seen doing anything.

Splash News sucks and should be cited for sending one of their videographers onto private property to tape people who weren’t aware of it. It’s an invasion of privacy. A lot of stuff goes on behind closed doors — a zillion times worse than a couple people doing blow. This is a joke.

  29. HBIC | January 31, 2008 at 3:06 pm

If this were a black actor, and a video like this came out after he died he wouldn’t get as much sympathy as Heath is getting. Let’s be real here, if it were a black guy, everyone would have been talking mad shit and nobody would have found it tasteless. If you don’t agree, then you have major issues. And the video damn sure wouldn’t have gotten pulled from media outlets and news broadcastings. Just stating the facts.

  30. S_M_G | January 31, 2008 at 3:07 pm

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the video down. I din’t watch it and was disgusted last night when I watched ET. They capitalized “HE WAS DEAD 2 years later” while showing his body being taken away in a body bag.

Now they are saying they won’t show the whole video. Big fucking deal! Last night was enough to condemn him.

    Rest in Peace Heath.

  31. read | January 31, 2008 at 3:11 pm

I wonder if Heath knew he was being photographed. At one point in the beginning he looks towards the direction of the camera. Maybe that’s why he didn’t partake.

My guess is that a paparazzo took this video years ago, but it looked boring and there didn’t seem tO have much value in it.
But in the wake of his death, and the circumstances around it, it’s suddenly ten times more interesting, and he sold it and found a ready buyer.

  32. Me | January 31, 2008 at 3:11 pm

  35. erin | January 31, 2008 at 3:21 pm

This video is pretty much pointless. Its not like he was doing drugs he was just talking to some friends who happened to be doing stuff he wasn’t. Maybe the media will realize that celebrities are humans too and they are allowed to go to parties just like everyone else

  36. MR615 | January 31, 2008 at 3:23 pm

he was a junkie, everyone is trying to sugar coat this shit, get over it!

  37. Amanda | January 31, 2008 at 3:27 pm

er… they’d be pretty bad entertainment reporters if they didn’t report the news. And you’re pretty big morons if you are a reader of this blog and are condemning them for posting news about a top story. It isn’t tacky anymore tacky or tasteless than any other kind of GOSSIP. If you don’t like reading GOSSIP then don’t seek out GOSSIP.

  38. carmen | January 31, 2008 at 3:28 pm

Disgusting. His family hasn’t even buried him, he left a small daughter fatherless and all these blogs and media care about is hits and ratings. Pathetic! Let his soul rest in peace for chrissakes!

  39. M.Costello | January 31, 2008 at 3:30 pm

I hope the scum bags that sold this video are at the Chateau as I write this email. I hope they used all the money they got to buy more drugs. I hope they are all knee deep in cocaine and heroine. I hope they do the world a favor and overdose.

  40. H. | January 31, 2008 at 3:32 pm

THIS IS NOT NEWS! This is slander and thoughtless and opportunistic. The poor man hasn’t even been buried yet! The toxicology reports are not even back yet! He has a little girl out there who’s going to grow up and read all this smack about her dad, the dad she’ll NEVER know. ALL of these media outlets need to back off and learn some decorum – And this includes the major networks which have become just as bad as the tabloids. You should all be ashamed of yourselves…Pathetic and sickening.

  41. kenyanhottie | January 31, 2008 at 3:36 pm

So what’snew? Don’t alot of these Hollywood types do drugs? The same way they kill people in the projects or poor neighbourhoods is the same way these rich Hollywood types will die. Drugs kill, plain and simple. They don’t discriminate either. RIP Heath.

  42. ginger | January 31, 2008 at 3:40 pm

WHO EVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
    LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!!

ok, since i was one of the ‘upset’ ones (much more disappointed than upset), i’ll be one of the first to say thanks. it was decent of you to at least take it off the front page. i still don’t like that it’s after the jump, but hey, when i run my own site, i’ll make that call. in the meantime, you guys do a terrific job.

I haven’t watched the video but it’s not shocking to me. Not saying he was a bad person none of us really knew him. How many people in Hollywood use drugs? Too many and these are the people we idolize. I am sorry that we lost a great talent however, lets face reality people. There’s no telling what he was doing behind closed doors. He was just an ordinary man with more money, that’s all. Stop making such a huge fuss about life’s dramas. Face it none of us are perfect and Heath wasn’t perfect either. I think the media has gotten tooo out of hand anyway they take this type of crap and run with it. If you all stopped caring about the personal lives of these people this sort of mud dragging would not exist.
