DJ AM Released From The Hospital

September 26th, 2008 // 1 Comment

DJ AM has been released from the hospital in Augusta, Georgia where he was recuperating after that horrible plane crash that killed four other people. He received burns to his head and face, but it looks like he was ok to go home.

“While he is deeply saddened by the events, he is thankful for all of
the love and
support he has been receiving from fans and friends worldwide,” his
rep said in a statement. “We ask that you continue to
respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his
friends.”

AM and fellow passenger Travis Barker of Blink-182 reportedly escaped the burning wreck of the plane by sliding down a wing and tackling each other to put out the flames that had engulfed them.

Barker suffered third degree burns below the waist and will remain in the hospital for a couple of weeks, according to Jermaine Dupri, who visited Travis on Sunday.

Here’s some file photos of AM and Barker. Is there anything more terrible than being burned? Seriously? I’d rather have an alligator chomp on my face.

This is good news. Most burn victims spend much longer time in the hospital. I’m glad he is healing well.

When the news came out and unfortunately a radio station here played the audio of Travis screaming :( I was petrified. I got a sense of relief when they said the other 2 died of the impact of the crash and not burned alive. Hopefully the pilots also have passed out from smoke inhalation before they burned :-(( It is the worst way to die. Poor souls…
