I know this post references electronic voting, but I make it a policy to never pass up a “chad” reference when discussing voting. From Wired News:
As early as Monday night, reports rolled in about election workers struggling to operate new voting machines. As polls opened Tuesday, voters in Ohio and Florida were delayed by voting machine glitches. In just one Indiana county, hundreds of precincts broke out paper ballots after poll workers couldn’t figure out how to run the electronic voting machines. Some counties in Illinois and Indiana were forced to leave polls open two additional hours because machine problems prevented people from voting. The full impact of computer glitches on the election will take months to evaluate.
Hopefully, the glitches will swing toward the candidates and propositions for which I have given my support. Hey, I’m just saying.
