Holy crap, I seriously had thought this guy passed away or something. He seriously looks like Father Time with a bad haircut. And his eyebrows frighten me. In any case, Don Imus recently made some comments about the Rutgers women’s basketball team and has now issued an apology to cover his ass. From Yahoo!:
Radio host Don Imus apologized Friday for calling the Rutgers University women’s basketball team “nappy headed hos” on his nationally syndicated program.
The National Association of Black Journalists demanded his immediate firing after the man known as “Imus in the Morning” put his foot deep in his mouth Wednesday. Imus questioned the players’ looks, describing them as tattooed “rough girls.” His producer compared the team — which has eight black members — to the NBA’s Toronto Raptors.
And now, here’s the obligatory apology…
Near the start of Friday’s show, Imus said he wanted to “apologize for an insensitive and ill-conceived remark we made the other morning referring to the Rutgers women’s basketball team.”
“It was completely inappropriate, and we can understand why people were offended. Our characterization was thoughtless and stupid, and we are sorry.”
Ugh. This guy just isn’t remotely interesting to me and now he’s made some annoying comments are not just unfunny, but offensive, I’m going to respond in kind by refusing to refer to him as anything other than Don Anus.

Why is it ok for Dave Chappelle to make fun of Asians in his show?
time to go to rehab!
Not only should Don Imus not lose his job he should not be fired. When blacks start demanding that blacks making racists comments lose their jobs, then they can scream about Imus’ head. Remember Al Sharpton is the one who defamed white cops in a farce known as the rape that didn’t happen. THe Reverened has no credibitliy. And for the record, I think what Imus said was plain stupid.
Don Imus should be fired, but he likely won’t be because racism sells. I’m sick and tired of all the “But Al Sharpton did this” and “Jesse Jackson said that” remarks. As far as I’m aware Sharpton and Jackson don’t have radio shows. The issue is not that Imus exercised bad judgment or even that he’s racist, but that he uses public airwaves to broadcast hate speech. That’s the issue. It doesn’t matter whether or not Imus is “sorry” or if he’s really a “good person” as he claims. No one gets to break rules because they apologize afterward.
I love how all these idiots are accuse this guy of racism instead of sexism.
I mean most of the girls on that team do have nappy hair!
I doubt any of them are hookers though.
That’s just rude, not racist.
Later,
Tom
Don IMUS should LOOSE his job. And for him not to lose his job would mean that MSNBC AND CBS is condoning his behaviour and his views. This is not tolerated in the work place so why should this be tolerated anywhere else… These people think it’s ok because significant action was not make to punish them in the first place. Personally I will continue to boycott your MSNBC until Don Imus is Fired. And I will not stop there, I am going to let everyone know that MSNBC/CBS supports racists. If they really want the public know they are serisous about this incident, then they should ask for his resignation. This is not a matter of rehab or who said what… this is going to continue and nobody wants that. what goes around certainly does comes around..
I love Don Imus. He seems to be the only one out there on TV that really speaks his mind, and calls idiots on the carpet. What he said probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do on national TV, but what about all the other comedians on TV that rudely make fun of other cultures? Mind of Mencia, anyone? Come on, this is ridiculous. Cost Imus his job? I certainly hope not, and it shouldn’t. He’s done so many good things for the african american community, but of course no one looks at that. Al Sharpton is one of many african americans that keeps their culture in the “It’s because I’m black, isn’t it?” mentality, and he’s blown the whistle on false issues before, so he truly has no credibility. This issue is absolutely insane.
Excuse me, but who ever said that Al Sharpton speaks for ALL African-Americans(AA)? Let me clear something up for you…he doesn’t. He speaks for himself. For you to believe that he speaks for all AA, makes you as big of an idiot as he is.
As for Don Imus. He’s not a comedian. So comparing him to Dave or Carlos is reaching. What Don said was awful and he owes someone an apology. He owes it to the Rutgers women’s basketball team. Not the entire AA community. Was I offended by what he said? Sure. However, this is the culture we live in. If I had to stop and demand an apology from every person who said something I found offensive, I wouldn’t make it off my block.
I don’t think he should be fired. What does that achieve anyway? It won’t make me feel better. And honestly, how many people, AA or otherwise, listen to Imus anyway?
when was the last time that jesse jackson or al sharpton protested a record label for releasing an album with a thousand ‘hoes’ and ‘bitches’ being sung by rap and hip hop artists? but that’s okay, right? cause it’s entertainment? BFD…get a job…
