Donatella Versace’s Daughter In Treatment For Anorexia

March 28th, 2007 // 10 Comments

This sucks. Donatella Versace’s daughter Allegra is in treatment for anorexia after being allegedly weighed in at an alarming 70 lbs. That’s sad.

Donatella Versace’s 20-year-old daughter, Allegra, is undergoing treatment for anorexia, the fashion designer said Tuesday. “Our daughter, Allegra, has been battling anorexia, a very serious disease, for many years,” Versace and Paul Beck said in a statement released by spokesman Robert Zimmerman.

“She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome this illness and is responding well. As parents, we are doing our best to protect our daughter. However, due to numerous media reports, we want to let everyone know that we appreciate their concern for Allegra, and we ask that her privacy be respected at this time.”

We’re rootin’ for ya, Allegra. Hopefully Donatella gives a lot of comforting hugs, because I can’t understand a word she’s saying. Does Allegra? Allegra doesn’t have time to translate, she’s in the battle of her life. Donatella should use a notepad or ASL or something.

DANG… you would think mom-tella would have noticed WAY before 70lbs. I hope she recovers.

I would quit eating too if that was my mother. In fact, I may never eat again.

    hello to every one!
I just wanted to add that ironically, “Allegra”, in Italian, means “happy”. I can tell you since I’m Italian and this poor girl must have been so happy since she ended up to a weight of 70 pounds!
    Happy environment that one!
PS: If you need any help in translating Italian into English, I’d be more than happy to help you.
    Ciao

Oh, the irony of a fashion designer’s child ending up with anorexia. At least she’ll be able to wear Mommy’s clothing line. It is sad for Allegra, sad but not surprising.
