Drew Barrymore took a trip with Conde Nast Traveler to rural parts of Kenya for the magazine’s September issue. Barrymore, a U.N. World Food Programme ambassador, traveled to the area in order to provide food for children, establish schools and wells for villagers. Nervous about her first trip, Barrymore asked a lot of questions and was keen to absorb each and every moment.
“Travelers should look at the harsh realities of a place but balance that with seeking its beauty. It’s important to acknowledge the reality of how the world functions but also to keep a sense of hope,” Barrymore, who arrived for a flight at LAX with beau Will Kopelman August 12th, told the magazine.
