Because I do find her pretty unpretentious–especially for a chick pretty much born and bred in what red-staters love referring to as “Hollyweird”–I’m happy that it looks like Drew Barrymore has pretty much landed my favorite nerd on the planet, director, Spike Jonze. X17 has some pix of Drew and Spike getting all kissy-faced at Ivy at the Shore in Santa Monica Tuesday night.

It’s been three months since Barrymore’s break-up from Strokes drummer, Fabrizio Moretti and in terms of hipster coolness, it looks like girlfriend has traded up in a big way. I did notice that a commenter on Us Weekly’s blog post about this romantic speculation pointed out that Drew seems like an affectionate person, apt to give a friend a kiss, but let’s just pretend for the moment that this is true. Because I said so.
