HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge looked like a true princess last night (October 26th) at Clarence House in a vintage silver gown from Amanda Wakely‘s Winter 2006 collection, according to the Daily Mail. Catherine stepped in for Prince Charles, who had to fly to Riyadh at the last minute to pay his respects to the Saudi Royal Family after the death of the Crown Prince Of Saudi Arabia.
Guests at the black-tie dinner were no doubt elated to be greeted by Catherine to raise money for Kind Direct, a charity set up by the Prince of Wales in 1996. A St. James Palace spokesperson told the Mail, “The Duchess of Cambridge was delighted to be able to step in for her father-in-law, The Prince of Wales.”
With her enviable hair styled in a half-up half-down ‘do, Catherine revealed a 3 inch scar that palace officials confirmed is the result of a “serious childhood operation.” They would not, however, elaborate on what the operation was for. Prince William also has a scar on his forehead from when he was struck with a golf club at 13.

Catherine was a pro at last night’s event, chatting with 30 guests at a reception before leading everyone into dinner. A letter from Prince Charles was read out loud, in which he referred to the Duchess as his “darling daughter-in-law.” Awww! “The Duchess hosted a very special evening with absolute professionalism and charm,” one guest said. “You would never know it was her first solo engagement. It was as if she had been trained by the Prince of Wales.”

A scar! A SCAR! She’s not fit to mingle her commoner’s blood with the royal blood! *sips tea* Really, we all have scars. Why they had to give a press release on it is just silly. She’s still lovely.
