Proud father Matthew McConaughey has already seen his newborn son Levi Alves McConaughey undergo his first Hollywood celebrity rite of passage, when he carried the little tyke across his first red carpet
for a fashion event. And now, McConaughey is following the tradition of
a vastly different and less strange culture by deciding to plant his
son’s placenta.

According to the surf-crazy actor, “It’s going to be in the orchards and it’s going to bear some wonderful fruit.” Matthew also said in his interview with CNN’s House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta,
“You’re never told in our house, ‘Shh, Levi is sleeping.’ No. Get used
to the ambiance. Come with us. That’s how I was raised.”

Wow. I have to say that in that little snippet, Matthew actually
sounded really down-to-earth and kind of common sensical. Clearly, the
beat of his bongo drums has hypnotized me.
