Chris Wietz, the director of New Moon, read the script for Eclipse and he wants to spill!
“I’m looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say,” Weitz told People magazine. “That’s going to be very steamy.” In one scene – *sorta spoiler if you don’t know the tent scene* – Bella is freezing and Jacob gets in a sleeping bag with her to keep her warm, while cold skinned Edward just has to watch. Okay, that just went from steamy to creepy, with a 40-year-old-guy so excited about steamy teen scenes.
Weitz is also eager to see Edward’s parents (Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli) start getting violent. “I have special interest in seeing Peter and Elizabeth tear people’s heads off.” Uh huh….
He also lets us know he’s voting for Anna Kendrick for the Oscars because she’s his “hommie” and he jokes that if there were more teeny boppers in the Academy he could be up for Best Picture. “It’s a scandal that there are not more teenage girls in the Academy.” Even though he’s obviously kidding here he has sketched me out to the point where everything he says is creepy.
