Renowned historian and Egypt’s chief Egyptologist Zahi Hawass doesn’t think much of Beyonce. Hawass called Beyonce a “stupid person” while speaking to the press about the pop star’s recent tour of the Giza Pyramids near Cairo. Reporter Summer al-Gamal was on-hand to document Hamass’s rant, according to ContactMusic.com. Recalls Gamal:
“Hawass said, ‘I showed her the Sphinx and I gave her a book on King Tutankhamen,” during his self-guided tour. The reporter says, ‘Then he stopped being diplomatic and said in anger, ‘She’s a stupid person and she doesn’t understand a thing and she doesn’t want to understand… She’s coming here to take pictures and that’s it.’”

Kudos to this dude for having the balls to speak the truth and reveal Beyonce as the ignorant and arrogant person I’ve long suspected her to be. What an ungrateful bitch to be blase about one of the wonders of the world. I would kill for a personally guided tour!

i happen to watch zahi hawass’ documentaries on discovery and he’s really smart. although beyonce may not be as smart as a scientist, she was in another country and should have respected their culture. egyptians are really proud of their heritage and she should have paid attention while zahi was explaining about ancient egypt.
zahi is a conservative senior citizen and maybe both of them should have considered their cultural differences.
zahi shouldn’t have called her “stupid”, and beyonce should have shown respect.

Just because she made 80 million dollars last year does’t make her smart. People obviously find her tallented and appreciate her music. She’s just lucky she has a good voice. She still has no idea about other people’s cultures and you don’t exactly listen to her interviews and think she’s a particularly intelligent person. That’s just my opinion.

I’m sure she’s not that stupid, but cultural ignorance kind of comes with being an American.
Finally who can blame her for focusing on her job rather than reading up on Ancient Eygpt, perhaps if this guy was focusing on his job rather than trying to moonlight as a Hollywood critic we would all be better off.
