Looks like Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have decided to tie the knot, after the California Supreme Court overturned the state’s ban against gay marriage yesterday.
Ellen made the news public at the taping of her show, which will air across the country today. Portia de Rossi was in the studio for the big announcement, where the excited audience cheered.
According to the court’s ruling, people have a fundamental “right to marry” the partner of their choice, making the previous ban unconstitutional.
The happy couple have been dating since 2004.

I think it’s great. Adults should be able to choose whom they wish to marry, as long as it’s another consenting adult, I don’t see the problem.

They have given us the courage that we needed. My partner and I have been together going on Two years. We live in Alabama and we have now decided to have a commitment ceremony. No it won’t be legal, but at least we can share our love and hope one day it will be legalized. Congrats to these two! Love is about love not gender.
