Everything Glittered at the CFDA Awards

June 5th, 2007 // Leave a Comment

It was a night of Hollywood literally melding with the fashion world. Designers brought their celebrity “representative” along with them on the red carpet.

Each designer brought their own celebrity mannequin for the red carpet outside the New York Public Library. So Eva Mendes walked next to Francisco Costa in a pink gown of his design, Chloe Sevigny came with Hollywould’s Holly Dunlap and Kate Bosworth paired up with Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler.

Debra Messing and Heidi Klum thankfully broke the polite posing rules in a threesome with model Liya Kebede as Charlie’s Angels, with Michael Kors playing Bosley.

The event, hosted by Ellen Barkin, is the fashion world’s version of the Oscars. Poured into another sizzling L’Wren Scott sequined dress, Barkin had just come from promoting “Ocean’s 13″ on Letterman. To stay in such smoking shape she says goes to the gym, but confessed, “I’m a burger and fries kind of gal.”

I love Ellen Barkin.
