Thanks to the Bravo reality television competition series Make Me A Supermodel 2, 26-year-old Jonathan Waud has become a familiar face (among other body parts) here on SOCIALITE LIFE.
His chiseled good looks and firm physique have kept him in the running on the show and it hasn’t been a chore perusing pictures of the model who graduated with a degree in French and International Business.
Married with a 21-month-old son, Jonathan recently dished to SOCIALITE LIFE about his personal life, modeling career and just how exactly he keeps that body looking camera-ready at all times!
You seem to be very
comfortable with your body. How do you feel about nude photo shoots, and is it more
difficult when there are other nude models?
I am comfortable–growing up in Europe makes a huge difference. We would go on
holiday to France and the women don’t wear tops at the beach. It really isn’t
something you even think about. Even the advertisements in Europe feature
partial nudity. It’s not about sex or being sexy, the human
body is beautiful and it is most natural to be naked.
Continue reading for the rest of Jonathan Waud‘s EXCLUSIVE interview and photo gallery!
If there was another
naked model on a shoot, I wouldn’t have any trouble. It’s a model’s
job to illustrate a vision of the photographer and sell a product with a tasteful
and artistic shoot. It’s best to maintain professionalism at all times and do
the best job you can.
You have a killer
body. What fitness and diet tips can you give our readers?
Oh thank you! I am really active, actually. I have a small handy man
business in L.A. so I am always lifting and moving and running around from site
to site. Yesterday I had to carry around 10 bags of concrete that weighed
100lbs each, so that’s a workout right there. I do love going to the gym
when time permits. It’s really the only way to get really defined. I am
not super careful about what I eat I have to admit. I have a wicked sweet
tooth and I love chocolate. As far as diet, I try to eat at least three meals a
day, which can be hard when I’m working nonstop on a site. I eat a lot of
grilled chicken and steak but I eat pasta too. I think everything is good in
moderation. When I eat breads and pasta, it’s usually whole grain.
Have you been getting recognized
yet? What’s your most exciting fan encounter?
It’s been quite gradual but as of the last three weeks I’ve been getting
recognized everywhere. Security guards at the mall, taxi drivers, families
eating dinner, everyone, everywhere. Every time it’s exciting and
everyone has been so nice. It’s wonderful. One instance that stands out
is when I got off a plane at San Francisco and this really nice guy came
straight up to me and asked to take a picture with me.
How long have you been
married and how old is your son?
We’ve been married about 2 1/2 years and our boy is almost 21 months. He’s getting
so big and is quite a character!
How long have you lived in the U.S.
and how does NYC compare to L.A.?
I’ve
been in L.A for 4 years–it was the first place I moved to in the States. Los
Angeles and NYC are both wonderful cities, I love them both for different
reasons. I love the weather of course here in L.A., and I adore the beach.
I would go everyday if I could! NYC is different culturally. I love the
museums, the little streets in Tribeca and The Village. Oh and there is the
food! NYC pizza is delicious!
How do you handle any
negativity and the criticisms that you have encountered?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I try not to take it
personally, which can be difficult because it is personal. I knew going into modeling
that with the good comes the bad. I don’t mind the criticism really, because it’s
been overshadowed by support and positivity.
How does one go from
earning a degree in French and International Business to becoming a model?
I never thought of being a model because I didn’t know it was an option. Then
opportunity presented itself, and I wanted to explore it. I once read
that Cindy Crawford was studying Mechanical Engineering in College and then
went on to become a super model. So, it just happens I guess.
Do you prefer being a blond or brunette?
Sometimes
it’s good to take risks, but I definitely see myself more as a blond.

I was a father when I turned 17 and my son had his own boy when he turned 18.
I am a 38 year old grandfather (and single too–it is not always easy to find the right time to tell a girl that she is dating a grandfather)

You’s all need to go back to school a get some reading skills cause it says 26-year-old Jonathan Waud and it says his son is 21 MONTHS that means hes coming 2 in three months which means Jonathan Waud would have been about 24 when hes son was born. ven i can figure that out and im only 18!! lol he is serously smoking HOT!!!

IN RESPONSE TO PERC:
this post originally stated that Jonathan Waud’s son was 21 YEARS OLD.
They corrected it later to read 21 MONTHS OLD.
The posts noting the mistake were from before the correction.

At first glance he is hot but the more I look at it the more I think he has Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD).
Amber Taylor | May 20, 2009 at 9:47 am
He is perfect. So nice. So humble. A perfect English gentleman…
*sigh*
Jenna | May 20, 2009 at 5:34 pm
He is the only reason I watch that show. I hope he wins! He’s hot.

enough of the 21 comments. anyone ever heard of a typo?
Jonathan is a beautiful person phyiscally… beautiful But I have been struck over the weeks of the show that he seems to be a great guy. He aspires, he competes, he laughs, he misses his family, he looks GREAT, but he is so positive, not a part of the drama drama drams.
My vote and my best wishes for the win and a SUPER career!

Have you ever heard a line “Married With kids” that means you’re married and you have kids. Cause it could be that you’re married but you don’t have kids yet.
Married with a 21-year-old son means the same. You’re married, and you have a 21-year-old son.
D’oh.
