LA Fashion Week is upon us and with fresh faced hitters like Louis Verdad and Sue Wong at the helm, one can rarely go wrong. Verdad’s muse was actually Natalie Portman and her performance in “Closer.” The flirty collection is for the slim as it is well tailored. Risky and fun seemed to be the theme for his collection. With Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Carmen Electra in the audience, he seems to have created a VIP fan base.

Smashbox Studios held Sunday’s debut of collections from eager designers. Verdad in particular raised the hemlines creating barely thigh skimming shorts and took a more cream colored standby and modernized it. The gold metallic colors were present with a hint of the 80′s, but sticking to today’s trends he didn’t forget the demand of his reputation for gowns.
