Despite the fact that Vin Diesel has pulled some diva antics during this round of promoting his film Fast & Furious, the action flick managed to kick off its opening weekend with a bang.

Taking in a whopping $72.5 million in it its opening weekend, the car-themed movie now olds the title of the biggest opener this year. Head of distribution Nikki Rocco thinks the appeal is as following, “For the audience, the first main reason to see the movie was the action, then the car racing, then Vin Diesel.”

Jumping on the Fast & Furious bandwagon, Saturday Night Live has introduced their addition to the gas-fueled franchise, Fast & Bi-Curious. It’s happy sexy time with Seth Rogen and Andy Samburg.
