“Flight of the Conchords” on HBO

My two new back-up boyfriends, who have both just bumped John Krasinski from “The Office” from his number one spot on that list, are Jermaine Clement and Brett McKenzie of the comedy folk music duo, “Flight of the Conchords.” I actually had a YouTube clip from a recent comedy special performance of theirs forwarded to me by a friend and instantly fell in love. And then, I get an e-mail from HBO that they have a television series on the air and that an episode is available for viewing in its entirety on their MySpace page. Well, it was nearly too much for my faint heart.

I’ve watched the episode and I have to tell you, I’m not usually a fan of guys with acoustic guitars trying to be funny. I’m sorry, it’s some residual dislike of Adam Sander’s comedy–I can’t help it! But these two are much more clever than that–plus they have adorable New Zealand accents and are somehow subtle enough in their utter goofiness that they have won the Lisa Timmons stamp of approval.

So, if someone who knows them could please forward the information that I’d happily marry either one of them (strictly to be helpful, of course) if they’re in need of a U.S. citizenship for any reason, then it would be greatly appreciated.

It’s funny..just yesterday I was walking down a street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and saw a post on a tree about Flight of the Conchords needing the interior of an apartment to shoot episodes in. You should move to Brooklyn and then they can be in your home and you can have your way with them.

I saw these guys preform at a Fringe Festival in Canada a few years ago and I have been sing ing their praises since. I am so thrilled to see genuine talent getting mainstream attention. Yeah!
