For Anne Hathaway, It Used To Be All About Depression

I’m sorry. I couldn’t resist a punny homage to my favorite Herpes medication commercials in that title–just because I’m a retard. When “The Devil Wears Prada” actress spoke with Britain’s Tatler magazine, she touched upon the subject of her teenaged depression. From People:

“I am sorry she was hurting for so long. It’s all so negatively narcissistic to be so consumed with self.”

The actress is the latest celebrity to discuss depression recently, joining Mandy Moore and Zach Braff.

I just wonder if all of these peeps have being an awkward teenager confused with being depressed. Cause if that’s the case, I was depressed too. Wait a minute, I guess that makes me STILL depressed. At least I have a slightly better haircut now, I guess. And I’m old.

Using the word “retard” ain’t funny. People who are mentally handicapped are not so by choice.

Substitute the N-word for “retard” in the above caption. Not funny, is it.

Ditto, to making fun of Herpes. I love your site but its getting a bit old. One in 5 people has genital herpes but 80% do not know it as they are asymptomatic. To make matters worse, doctors do not screen for herpes as part of the std battery of tests. When you responsibly say ‘test me for Everything” this is not one of the fun bunch for which your doc is screening. You don’t have to take my word for it, ask your doctor next time you go for a yearly. It is a major failing of the medical community. If people were routinely tested and the wide-spread prevalence of this STD was better understood perhaps the social stigma might be lessened.

Depression seems to be a trent among celebs now. I agree that most of them weren’t actually diagnosed, they just got real sad one day and decided that were depressed. Trendy.

Enjoy your site tremendously but the use of the word “retard” is insensitive to say the least and detracts from some of your witty humor. Unnecessary , not funny and makes you seem very unaware, so tighten up… would love to continue reading your often hilarious celebrity related commentary.

WOAH guys, i’m sure none of this was meant to be offensive… we’re not on some fancy news site here. We should be happy just to get our daily dose of celeb gossip and wit. But your opinion matters, so yeah i guess my blurb is useless… whatever. Just enjoy it!
