Gabourey Sidibe Keeps Her Cool Over The Oscars

After her Oscar nomination for best actress, Precious star Gabourey Sidibe has “no nervousness” about the big day.

Gabby told reporters at the ACE Awards for film editors in Los Angeles yesterday where she is pictured, “There’s nothing that can come from nervousness except bad
stuff.”

The Hollywood newcomer said she’s not preparing a speech; she is just more excited just to be nominated and get to watch the show.

“It’s already a huge honor to be nominated but I don’t think I need to
think about a speech at all, I’m just excited to be nominated.”

The 26-year-old might want to reconsider that, as her powerful performance in Precious had critics talking about more than Mariah Carey‘s mustache. Co-star Mo’nique is already the unanimous favorite for Best Supporting Actress. Though unlike her co-stars, Sidibe didn’t have to be forgiven for any past cinematic indiscretions (Glitter and Phat Girls, anyone?).

Sidibe added, “It’s been a full year of ‘I can’t believe
this is happening!’ I’d like to be able to take a nap at some point but
I do enjoy this.”
