Australia Week kicked off yesterday with Australia.com’s Black Tie Gala, an event celebrating the contributions of stars promoting Australia here in the United States. Lots of celebs attended the event, which included a dinner by Australian chef Wolfgang Puck. Kylie Minogue and director Phillip Noyce (“Patriot Games,” “The Bone Collector”) each were honored, and their awards were presented by John Travolta and Harrison Ford. Olivia Newton-John performed.
It’s kind of refreshing to see Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta all healthy and happy together — especially after seeing how their “Grease” costar Jeff Conaway is doing on Celebrity Rehab. I wonder if Dr. Drew has taken on more than he can handle with that guy alone.
I also wonder if Olivia sang “Have You Ever Been Mellow.” A live performance just might convince me to visit the land down under.

Vandenberg, would you just shut the hell up with your homophobic bullshit?
It’s all you ever do, and it is just pathetic, lame and annoying. And the allcaps make it SUPER special.
Apologies to the ASL site owners, but this guy has been pissing me off for months.
Wolfgang Puck is Austrian not Australian. For whatever it’s worth.
Aww. Danny and Sandy: The Middle Aged Years!
