The novel upon which George Clooney‘s critically-acclaimed movie, Up in the Air, is based had the main character suffering from prostate cancer throughout the course of the story.
Director of the film, Jason Reitman explains, “You find out that [Ryan Bingham, Clooney's character] is dying of terminal disease and that he’s going to the Mayo clinic.” For the movie version, however, Reitman decided to nix the life-threatening disease.
The closest Clooney’s corporate frequent flyer comes to a brush with the illness is when he mistakenly thinks the stewardess on one of his flights is saying “cancer” to him, instead of “can sir.”
But just to be clear, your beloved George has a clean bill of health, so you can stop being concerned now.
