George Clooney’s Date Oscar Night: President Barack Obama

February 24th, 2009 // 3 Comments

Usually, George Clooney is a regular on the Academy Awards red carpet. But this year, he was noticeably absent from the weekend’s festivities. Of course, the journalistic-minded actor and director had a good excuse: He was just chilling with President Barack Obama.

On his CNN’s Larry King Live interview on Monday, Clooney revealed that he’d spent Sunday evening meeting with Obama discussing the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. Clooney suggests that the United States do “what we do best, what we have done best since the start of this country, which is good, robust diplomacy all across the world.”

Yum. “Good, Robust Diplomacy” sounds like a flavor of Starbucks coffee.
