George Takei and his partner of 21 years, Brad Altman, finally wed in a multicultural ceremony on Sunday. The couple both wore white jackets and black pants, or what I like to call James Bond style — and the eclectic details didn’t stop there.
The two made their entrance to “One Singular Sensation” from A Chorus Line into a circle of yellow roses and lillies. They shared a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and were wed by a Buddhist priest. The husbands exchanged Native American wedding bands and left to a bagpipe procession. See, I was serious when I said multicultural ceremony.
George and Brad have always been outspoken about gay rights and same sex-marriage, and were one of the first couples to register for a wedding license.
“We have a relationship that’s been stronger and longer-lived than some of our straight friends, and yet we were not equal,” Takei said before the ceremony. “What this does is give us that dignity; (it’s) being part of the American system and being whole.”
And Tila Tequila is still waiting on that thank you.

Wonderful! I know that my conservative friends (you’ll note that I did not say a party because there are conservatives in each group) will cringe at it is stories like this that make me SO proud to be an American…and live in a Democratic state! This is Democracy. I dont like Sarah Palin’s views but I absolutely respect her right to run and run her pie hole:-)

2 Old, I said it before and I’ll say it again.
the biggest threat to the “institution of marriage” is NOT gay marriage, but divorce.
the old men in congress (and their 2, 3, or 4 marriages!) need to realize that.
