Picture Gerard Butler in your head. What do you see? Chances are you’re probably picturing him as King Leonidas from 300, all buff and big and manly. Well, take a look at the new Gerard Butler. For his role as a surfer in Mavericks, Gerard stopped his muscle-inducing diet and workout, safely losing weight and getting to his new, thin look.
He told US Weekly about the weight loss saying, “I ate my last meal in October, and I run about 40 miles a day. I’m joking! It’s just doing a lot of cardio and extremely watching what I eat. I stopped lifting big weights and I’m doing yoga.” A hottie with a sense of humor. My favorite.

So how hard was it to get down to his new weight? “It’s not hard to stay in shape,” he explained. “It’s hard to be in really good shape.” Oh I’m sure you’ll manage it just fine. No what about all those pesky people saying you’re too thin? “If I wear a long shirt, everyone says, ‘Oh my, God! He lost so much weight.’ But this is how I look. I just used to be a lot bigger. But now I’m surfing. I’m doing a surf movie so I have to slim down. I don’t know… maybe I’m sick or something!”
Listen Gerard, you do whatever you want with your body. As long as you keep looking good in suits and making movies that people love, we will love you right back. Plus, your silly faces are so cute!
